This post a place for me to keep track of the books I read in 2018. Yes, I know I also keep track on goodreads blah blah blah. Feel free to skip this post, or you can share book recommendations, talk about your reading goals for this year or anything book-related.

My goal last year was to read 100 books, which I achieved. I read 133 books in 2017. Not bad when you consider I had a month-long reading slump and read a few monster-sized novels.

My goal for 2018 is once again 100 books.

01. Princess Academy (Princess Academy 1) by Shannon Hale (5 stars)
02. Palace of Stone (Princess Academy 2) by Shannon Hale (5 stars)
03. The Forgotten Sisters (Princess Academy 3) by Shannon Hale
04. Tex by SE Hinton (RE-READ)
05. Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House by Michael Wolff (5 stars)
06. Leia, Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray {A}
07. Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan {A} (5 stars)
08. Guardians of the Galaxy: Collect Them All by Corinne Duyvis (5 stars)
09. Soulless (Parasol Protectorate 1) by Gail Carriger {A} (5 stars)
10. Yes Please by Amy Poehler {A} (5 stars)
11. Britt-Marie Was Here by Fredrik Backman {A} (5 stars)
12. The Other Lady Vanishes (Burning Cove 2) by Amanda Quick
13. The Song is You by Megan Abbott
14. One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus {A}
15. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid {A} (5 stars)

If you ever have any book recommendations or have comments/questions about the books I’ve read, PLEASE come to this post & leave them in comments.

Congrats on your reading total! Best of luck with this year's goals!

I'm sure you figured out that I friended you on GoodReads as ladyantimacassar! I've really enjoyed going through all your reviews! :)

Thanks for reading my reviews. (If that's what you want to call them lol. Sometimes I feel like actually shooting for an actual review-type thingie and other times...not so much. As I'm sure you can tell.)

I have just gone crazy and gotten several books for my Kindle, that I'm intent on reading this year.

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill
The Birdwoman's Palate (which was my Prime pick this month) by Laksmi Pamuntjak, Tiffany Tsao
How to Be a Bawse: A Guide to Conquering Life by Lilly Singh
The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women by Kate Moore (this one has sounded pretty interesting for awhile, so I'm excited to read it)

I also have Turtle's All The Way Down in my TBR pile and probably some of those other books I've picked up over the past year. I'm aiming for 12 books, cause I'm kind of a slow reader.

Oooh I want to read The Girl Who Drank the Moon so much! I've heard such good things about it. Let me know what you think when you read it. I think The Radium Girls is on my TBR, too.

You're totally going to rock your reading goal ♥

Good luck with your new reading goal!

I read 60 books in 2017, I'm hoping for 75 this year! :)

Are you on goodreads?
Jan. 2nd, 2018 07:00 pm (UTC)
HI! I know I've been pretty absent from LJ for a really long time. I mainly waste my time on Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram. But I'm not really even that active on those that much anymore.

I am on goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/37513261-gina)! I don't write many reviews but I do keep track of what I'm reading and rate everything.
Jan. 2nd, 2018 08:24 pm (UTC)
I don't use my LJ much anymore. Or my tumblr. My twitter is just rage-retweets lol.

I'm adding you on goodreads :)
Jan. 2nd, 2018 09:02 pm (UTC)
Same for me with twitter and there's really nothing I want to reblog on tumblr anymore, just a few cat posts here and there haha. Instagram is just so I can follow athletes and a couple friends, and post a few pictures of my cats and my nails.

I'm glad to have another friend on goodreads!

Wow, that’s awesome! I only managed to read 28 books last year *g*

Congratulations on being a reading ninja! 🎉🎉🎉

I'm going for a lowly 25 books this year but seeing as I read like 2 last year I'm not feeling all that confident.

My brother got me"How to Stop Time" for Christmas and I also received "In the Shadow of Blackbirds" from a friend.
Also i got a gift card for Waterstones so i bought "Caraval" by Stephanie Garber and "The Bear in the Nightingale" by Katherine Arden. When I was paying for them the sales assistant said she'd heard good things about both books and that they'd both been compared to The Night Circus (😍) so fingers crossed I picked wisely.

Thank you! I think you'll rock your reading goal :)

I really loved How to Stop Time. I have In the Shadow of Blackbirds but have yet to read it.

I really really want to read The Bear in the Nightingale. I've heard it's just lovely. I read Caraval early in 2017...I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts on it. I don't want to influence your reading experience by giving my thoughts until after you've read it.

I think I read like, 5 books in 2017. I don't know how you do it!

(Does Cosmo count as a book? That could up my count...)
Jan. 2nd, 2018 08:26 pm (UTC)
Sure, why not? If audiobooks and comic books count. And goodreads has adult coloring books that you can track as currently reading/read/want to read.

Hahaha, amazing! I got a free subscription a while back, so now I can read it every month and pretend I'm cool.
Jan. 2nd, 2018 09:46 pm (UTC)
That's an impressive goal! I managed to read 32 books in 2017, and I'm aiming for 35 books this year.

I'm reading All the Light We Cannot See and though it is fantastic, I can't bring myself to finish it...yay, reading slumps; time for a 24-hour readathon to cure it! :p The author is Anthony Doerr and it is eye-opening to the reality of war.
Jan. 3rd, 2018 01:10 pm (UTC)
That's a fantastic book. It's in my top 10 all-time faves.
Feb. 3rd, 2018 01:42 pm (UTC)
I've been meaning to read Soulless for a few years now, but it's STILL not available as an ebook here :(
Feb. 3rd, 2018 10:52 pm (UTC)
I got the 2nd (physical) book in the Soulless series for Christmas and a 3 month Audible subscription so I listened to Soulless on there. (I have a few random Gail Carriger books from different series and ugh it's such a mess.) I bought the rest of the series and am waiting somewhat patiently for them to arrive. (I hope the series doesn't start to go downhill!)

That's crazy it's not available on ebook there...it's a worldwide best seller and been out long enough, they need to make that available.
