The fabulous jaysta_11 gave me:

1. Jordan Staal
2. X-Men
3. Jericho
4. Flying Monkies
5. Craig Adams (omgilovehimsohard)
6. Twilight
7. Club Wolverine

1. Jordan Staal--I WISH HE'D GET HIS ASS IN GEAR AND SCORE SOME PLAYOFF GOALS. Ahem. Now that THAT'S out of my system, I do like his human wrecking ball approach to things. I became a fan of his back in his rookie year when he was a short-handed goal monster. And also because he was Eric's little brother and my mom hates Eric (and by extension, all the Staals), so it became sort of a joke between us. He's my favorite Staal, if only because he's a Penguin. That's terrible. But I totally would've cried if they'd traded him like all the rumours suggested. I was really, really happy for him down the stretch of the regular season to see how well he played under Bylsma's new system. And he's sort of endearingly adorakable. Like an oversized lab puppy.

2. X-Men--I liked the comic books, FLOVE the movies. I went to see X-Men 3 22 times in the theater. YES, I KNOW I’M PATHETIC. My favorite mutant is Pyro. Movie Pyro, that is. I can't decide if it's because of the character's ~internal conflict~ or because Aaron Stanford played him and OMG AARON STANFORD, but anywhooo. And of course, I don't know anyone in real life who likes X-Men, so I always have to go see the movies by myself which sucks hard. I can't wait to see Wolverine, I need to do that this weekend or next.

3. Jericho--I floved this show so much, so of course it got cancelled. I have the DVDs and watch them all the time, so I've seen the entire series about 5 times. But they're supposedly making a straight-to-DVD movie and I'm OMG SO EXCITED. Oh, and Skeet Ulrich is freaking hot, even if he is old now, lol. Actually, he's hotter now then he was when he was younger. HE NEEDS MORE WORK, HOLLYWOOD.

4. Flying Monkies--My favorite movie of all-time is The Wizard of Oz. I've loved it since I was 5. My favorite characters have always been the Wicked Witch & her flying monkeys. Most kids are scared of them and even most adults I know are mildly creeped out, but I love them to the point that I collect flying monkey stuff. And it's not easy to find! I usually scour eBay, buy what I can find, then sell it to my mom to give to me for Xmas presents :D. I have 8 dolls/figurines; 3 snow globes; a night light that's the Witch's castle & when you light it, there's a ring with monkeys on it that rotates around the top turrent of the castle; and so many glossy photos/posters/postcards that I've lost track. When McDonald's had Madame Alexander Flying Monkeys in their Happy Meals last year, I bought Happy Meals for a my family & ate there for lunch myself for a week and specifically requested the monkey each time. I ended up with like a dozen of them, lol. They're now suspended with fishing line from the ceiling above my computer desk at home. YES, I REALIZE I'M A FREAK, lol.

5. Craig Adams (omgilovehimsohard)--I was familiar with him from Carolina & Chicago as a penalty killing machine, and was pleasantly surprised when the Pens picked him up. (Both for the fact that the Pens were getting a really good defensive forward, and for the fact that he just might get some playing time finally.) I like his energy on every shift and I tend to gravitate towards third & fourth line players. I like the scrappy ones, I guess :D And I like the fact that he was born in Brunei-Borneo, how bizarrely awesome is that???

6. Twilight--I think the books are crappily written, the movie was boiling crap, Edward/Bella/Jacob are the most retarded fictional characters in the history of fiction, but OMG I'M SO ADDICTED. I discovered the book a couple years back when I was waiting in line at Walmart & they had a display of the paperbacks by the register on sale for $5. I thought the cover (the apple in the hands) was pretty, so I bought it AND COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN, except to laugh at Bella's over-the-top descriptions of Edward's ~beauty~. I did return Breaking Dawn to Border's for a refund BECAUSE IT'S THE CRAPPIEST NOVEL IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. Words have not been invented to describe how craptacular that book was, or how much I hated it. I do love Alice & Jasper SO HARD, and I think their story is more interesting that Edward & Bella's.

7. Club Wolverine--It's a training program for world class swimmers that is attached to the University of Michigan. It's made up of UM's swim team and pro swimmers who train with them. They compete together @ grand prix meets during the swim season (January thru August). From 2004-2008, Michael Phelps trained there along with a whole bunch of other Olympic swimmers. My mom & I go to a lot of swim meets and CW was so fun to watch: they dominated in the pool and were a bunch of freaking idiots outside of it that we'd find ourselves watching their shenanigans on the pool deck more than the actual races. Phelps & his coach left the program after raping it for all it was worth after the 2008 Olympics, and all but one of the Olympic swimmers have retired, so it'll be sort of sad to see them now (I'm going to see them...and Phelps & all the other Olympic swimmers...in July @ World Championship Trials).
