This...............is American Idol.

This year's finale was the first time I've liked both contestants in the final 2. I wanted Crystal to win--because I think it was time for another girl winner & she was consistently awesome all season long--but I ain't mad or even disappointed that Lee won. I sort of really feel bad for him because of the back-lash he's gonna face. It got me to thinking about my all-time favorite Idol contestants, my least faves, the ones I hated on the show but enjoy post-Idol (and vice versa), and so I decided to list my Top 5 Favorite Contestants Ever.

Oh, and I should probably mention that I didn't watch the first season of Idol, which is why Kelly didn't make my list.

5. Michael Johns
Dude got booted way too soon. While his song choices sometimes DROVE ME UP A FREAKING WALL ("Dream On", Michael? REALLY?), I loved his gritty voice. I love his pre- and post-Idol work (though I wish he'd get far, far away from that tool David Foster) and I've seen him in concert & he's really amazing, has great stage presence & OMG THAT VOICE.

4. Crystal Bowersox
I've always wanted a girl with her kind of voice on Idol and my wish finally came true. Her voice can be soft & clear or gritty & growly and it just ~blows my mind~. Her studio version of "Maybe I'm Amazed" is exsquisite.

***Putting the Top 3 in order WAS REALLY TOUGH. My love for them is almost interchangable.***

3. Elliott Yamin
BEST.MALE.VOCALIST.ON.THIS.DAMN.SHOW.EVER. And you can't change my mind. I will swear until my dying day that if THAT VOICE would've been in, say, Ace Young's pretty boy body, he would've made the Top 2 over Kat Pee McPhee. And he always displayed such humility & utter ~joy~ when performing, I just love him to pieces.

2. David Cook
I *hated* Cook until Top 16 week when he did his post-grunge version of "Hello". I thought he was gross & slimy & smug & skeevy & Constantine Maroulis-y until this performance. After that, I was gone. He's got a great rock voice and just owned the Idol stage. I gasped in shock when he beat Archie out for the title, I never thought one of my favorites would EVER win. I saw him in concert on my 25th birthday & it was the BEST.BIRTHDAY.PRESENT.EVER.

1. Kris Allen
Ah, the Little Idol That Could. He was smart at picking songs that suited him, or that he could change up to suit him. Week 1 of the Semis, I remember thinking "I've never seen this dude before, he is so gone". But "She Works Hard for the Money" and "Ain't No Sunshine" and OMG ESPECIALLY "Heartless" were just brilliant performances. I gasped when Cook shockingly won, but I literally *SCREAMED* when Kris won or maybe it would be more appropriate to say that I *SCREECHED* like Adam lolololol j/k. I'm dying to see him live.

*Sorry for the crap-quality vid, but it's the best I could find on YouTube of the original performance.

Presh little Pocket!Idol thanks you for your time ♥

I have to admit- I've never actually watched American Idol.

I adore him & hope his career goes really well. I'll buy anything he puts out. He's like ~rainbows & sunshine & cupcakes~ lol.

I sometimes wish I never watched it cause I get a little over-involved sometimes. At least I gave up the powervoting (300+ votes an hour, baby!).

MICHAEL JOHNS! OMG I thought I was the only one on the planet who liked him. He got the boot way too early especially when he had such a good voice!

Oh and David Cook, my love♥

I love him to pieces, his album is amaaaazing. I should post my concert pics of him sometime...we had really great seats so they turned out well.

I thought the Finale that year should've been Michael & Cookie, I would've exploded from teh awesome. (Here's my snarky review of when I saw them live & here are (some of) my David Cook pics ♥

Dude, you definately need to post those pictures. He is one beautiful man :D

Okay, first of all, OMG DAVID COOK OMG I'M A FAN GIRL! Those pictures were so so so so good! Ahhh your seats were amazing! You lucky chica! I can only imagine just how good he looked in person.

And LMFAO at your review! I was pretty much cracking up through the whole thing. Especially Mr. Nerd. Hahaha I really died. Of course he went beserk over Michael Johns. Who the hell wouldn't? That concert sounded like so much fun! ♥

I'll upload them this weekend ;)

Ooooh, I wanted to squeal & spazz out when Cookie started his set, but the girl I was with was more of an acquaintance than a friend & I didn't want to scare her lol. HE WAS JUST SOOOO AMAZING.

I posted that same review on my MySpace back then & all these little Archuleta fangirls left comments saying how sad & evil I was for making fun of him. I think I was meaner about Kristy Lee y/y?

Both Idol tours I've been to were sooooo much fun. The tour stopped in Fort Wayne last year too, but Kris was the only person last year I liked & this year I only liked Crystal & Lee, so I'll probably skip it, too.

No, I meant this year's Finale, he got to open the show & sing of of his own songs & even Simon was impressed (!!). But, yes, his duet with Keith Urban is the BEST FINALE DUET IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD OMG OMG OMG. I have the audio of it & it's been on my iPod since last season.

OOOOOOOOOOOOH, I want to see them so bad! Kris is also opening some shows for Maroon 5, Lady Antebellum & Bare Naked Ladies (THE EFF?!?!?) & also doing some smaller shows by himself. AND OMG I NEED TO DO A KRIS-BB POCKET IDOL PICSPAM, GOT SOME AMAAAAZING NEW PICS OF HIM!!!

I am so in love with his first album I'm likely getting the stupid heart tattooed. Siiiigh.

I got to see him four times during the Declaration tour, and it was seriously the best freaking time of my life, I can't even. He's amazing~

I had to buy a new copy of his album over the weekend, I misplaced mine & JUST HAD TO HEAR IT IMMEDIATELY. Oh, well, add one more to his sales total lol. This is the same person that bought 7 copies of Clay Aiken's first album...OY.

LUUUUUCKY. I'm so jealous lol. I wish he'd come around these parts again, but all we get are country concerts D:

I own about five copies of DCTR, not gonna lie, and if I could find a legit copy of Analog Heart for purchase I would own several copies of that one too.

I hope he does more shows soon! The first time I saw him was the Valpo show, actually. :)

I miss Season 7, in general. I floved that season so much, none will ever measure up D:

I KNOW OMG. I actually haven't been able to regularly watch ever since the Davids left.

Although I will confess to a certain amount of occasional love for a certain Adam Lambert... and I'm glad that my homeboy Lee DeWyze won this time around (he's good friends with a friend of mine and I was around when he auditioned--I'm half glad half regretful they didn't convince ME to audition too!).
