Song suggestions, s'il vous plait.

I'm a member of a mixclub on a messageboard I neglect sometimes post on belong to. The mixclub runs ends in November of each year & doesn't start up again until the following May. I just remembered last night that I owe my last mixee of the year her mix! FAIL! So to make it up to her, I'm going to send her a different mix for each month she's had to wait. (I plan on mailing the CDs by the end of March, but I'm including one for April since my mixee lives in Austrailia & they'll take a few days to get to her.)

I finished the mixes for November, December & February, they're just awaiting cover art. I have themes for January, February & March, but I'm having a wee bit of trouble coming up with enough songs to fill each mix (I need anywhere from 18-22 songs, depending on song length), so I thought I'd ask y'all for some input because of your collective awesomeness :)

January: How Sweet It Is!
Songs with either the word "sweet" or "sweetness" in the title, or songs titles with sweet treats in them (i.e. candy, honey, sugar, you get the idea)
1. Sweet Thing--Keith Urban
2. Sweet Thing--Lisa Leuschner (totally different song than the one above)
3. Candyman--Christina Aguilera
4. Savoy Truffle--The Beatles
5. Pour Some Sugar On Me--Def Leppard
6. Sweetness--Jimmy Eat World
7. Peaches--Presidents of the United States
8. Sex & Candy--Marcy Playground
9. Ice Cream--Sarah McLachlan

March: Under the Covers
Cover versions of songs, whether they're good or horrendous
1. American Girl--Val Emmich
2. Always Be My Baby--David Cook
3. I'll Stand By You--Carrie Underwood
4. American Woman--Lenny Kravitz
5. Across the Universe--Fiona Apple
6. Breakfast in America--Cupid's Chokehold
7. Up to the Mountain--Kelly Clarkson
8. Your Song--Ewan McGregor
9. Have a Little Faith In Me--Mandy Moore
10. Tell Me Something Good--P!nk

April: ...April Showers Bring May Flowers...
Songs with words like "rain", "grow", "grass", "flower(s)" or names of flowers in the title
1. Let It Rain--Eric Clapton
2. Purple Rain--Prince
3. Wildwood Flower--Reece Witherspoon
4. Rainy Day Woman #13 & #35--Bob Dylan

Any & all suggestions are greatly appreciated! ♥♥♥♥♥♥

My iTunes library offers up the following for "sweet"

Bittersweet - Big Head Todd & The Monsters
One Sweet Day - Boys II Men & Mariah Carey
One Sweet World - Dave Matthews Band
Sweet Dreams - The Eurythmics
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N Roses
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Home Sweet Home - Motley Crue
Sweetness Follows - REM
Sweet Little Sister - Skid Row
The Sweetest Thing - U2

Would a little gratuitous "Cornelius Fudge Is An Ass" be inappropriate? *LOL*

Also - Tutti Fruitti (Little Richard), Blood Sugar Sex Magik (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Tootsie Roll (69 Boys - which I loathe, but my husband got on a mix at one point.)

Holler if you need me to upload anything.

And I hadn't even thought of using Wrock! =) I think Cornelius Fudge is an ass would be awesome, CAUSE IT'S TRUE.

Thanks soooo much for the suggestions!

Great suggestions! I like Orgy's cover of Blue Monday, though most people I know hate it :(

It's slipping my mind who redid Kelly's song, but I know what you're talking about.

Thanks for your help! :)

Like I'd make fun of your suggestions...did you see the ones I came up with?!?!? lol These are great, thanks! I totally have that Clay Aiken CD, lol.

I'm going to download & use Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide cause that's a great title.

I think my brother (secretly) has the Cars soundtrack, I'll have to go steal it from him ;)

You're gonna get a million comments from me.

iTunes just put on Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ... by ... Miley Cyrus.

SHUT UP.

Another thought, the Disneymania CDs are purely covers. Don't know if they're what you're going for, but just throwing it out there.

Cool, go for it ;)

The 40-year-old-chain-smoker-in-disguise covered that song??? Wow. Just wow.

Hey, anything goes for these mixes. I've been known to download songs from the Disneymania CDs (though I totally forgot about them being, y'know, covers...it sucks being away from my iTunes!).

Nope, not late at all :)

Nope, Bittersweet Symphony is not a stretch...especially cause I love it ;) I was thinking of putting Candy by Mandy on there, but wasn't sure...but a bluesy version, I definitely would!

Oh, I forgot about U2's cover...and that whole CD of Lennon covers that it was on...

Thanks for your suggestions, they're great! I'm going to use some of everyone's songs & post the final playlists once I finish them.

Uhhh. I only have few suggestions because most people already mentioned mine, lol.

But for April, Raining on Sunday... by... **dundundun**, Keith Urban. And if you need it, someone covered that song, but I completely forgot who because it was just a total fail that I felt like ripping my ears off o_O
Rememer When it Rained, Josh Groban.
The Flowers, Regina Spektor
Shelter From The Rain, Avatasia
Forget About The Rain, Trapt

And for January
Sweet Misery, Michelle Branch

March
The one I listed above and...
I Could Not Ask For More, Sara Evans
